The second round of Italian Karting National Series, lands in Sarno at Circuito Internazionale Napoli. A sold out paddock and a brand new track layout for the drivers that will engage again the track under the Volcano.  First response and first datas for the new track in perfect racing condition.

 

The Italian National Karting Series know as Campionato Italiano Karting, after the opening arrive in Sarno at Circuito Internazionale Napoli. It is the second of five rounds of the series and again big numbers with 201 drivers as participants plus the side event with the baby champions of Entry Level class. So, in Sarno established the following classes for the race: KZ2, 60 Mini, OK Junior, ACI Kart, ACI Kart Junior e 125 Club. On the first day of Friday, drivers did the first approach to the track with the sessions of Free Practices. On day two, an interesting schedule with the Qualifying Practice and the races as Qualifying Heats. The QP session provided important informations about the timing on the track with the new design. Again, no more the historical 1.7 km or 1699 mt but a modern 1550 mt with the average speed kept. Well, important data is the best time marked by local driver Francesco Celenta (IPK/Tm/Mg) of KZ2 class with 56.476 at 98.67 Km/h av on 1550 meters of the track. Concerning the other categories, the leader board at the end of the day is really full of names with the performances on track that do not express a particular driver as a master of the race. After the Qp session, a really long series of QHeats, 23 races in a day to burn and magnify the second round of Campionato Italiano Karting at Circuito Internazionale Napoli, Sarno’s track. On Sunday, final phase with 2 races as final for each of the 5 classes involved in the event plus the Final race for baby Entry Level class.

Al Circuito Internazionale Napoli di Sarno si è svolta l’11esima edizione della Coppa del Vesuvio con gli anessi piloti del Trofeo di Marca della Iame X30 Challenge. Ancora condizioni di gara difficili e particolari ad evidenziare lo spettacolo del nuovo tracciato e con tutta l’organizzazione on the road per la seconda tappa del Campionato Italiano Karting del 29 maggio.

Il bis l’ha fatto la pioggia a Sarno in occasione della undicesima edizione della Coppa del Vesuvio. Dopo tre eventi di stagione, gli ultimi due sono stati caratterizzati dalle difficoltà durante la corsa dovuti alla pista bagnata. La pista, quella del Circuito Internazionale Napoli che aspetta il battesimo in condizioni di gara asciutta. Comunque, bis anche di approvazione per l’intero impianto da parte degli 82 piloti verificati per la Coppa del Vesuvio. Costituite 8 categorie di mezzi con la serie della Iame X30 Challenge nel ruolo di ospite speciale. Ben 20 i piloti del famoso motorista.

Programma con il format classico di gara ovvero, nella giornata di domenica, si sono svolte le Qualifiche, le gare di Prefinale e le Finali.

Le qualifiche si sono svolte in regime di wet race quindi karts dotati di gomme scolpite. I miglior tempi sono stati effettuati da: E. Salmaso (FormulaK/Tm) nella 125 Gear Shift o KZ2; da F. Pagano (TonyKart/Tm) nella OKJ; da R. Mazzola (id) nella Cadetti; da A. Apicella (TopKart/Lke) nella Entry Level; Nella Prodriver è stato A. Beretta a staccare la pole; nella KZ2 Gentleman affare per S. Crispo e nella 125 Club per T. Polidoro. Il miglior tempo in qualifica per la Iame X30 è stato effettuato da C. Comanducci (Senior) con il tempo di 1.15.656.  Ancora variabile il tempo ma pista bagnata e scrosci temporaleschi per le PreFinali. In alcune occasioni si sono viste le gomme slick ma il tempo non è stato clemente. Ha iniziato la 125 Gear Shift o KZ2. Non c’è stata pioggia in questa gara. Subito il colpo di scena con Celenta (FormulaK/Tm) che abbandona a pochi giri dall’inizio. Ciro Mollo (Jesolo/Tm) comunque soffre problemi pur restando assolutamente in gara. Via libera quindi per S. Cucco (Energy/Tm) che autorevolmente vince. A seguire le due classi a motorizzazione 60cc ovvero i Cadetti e la Entry Level. Lo spirito agonistico di questi campioncini di tutti e due gli interi schieramenti è enorme nonché ordinato. Vincono le gare G. Minì per i Cadetti e A. Apicella per la Entry Level. Nella OKJ F. Pagano ingaggia una bella lotta con A. Bristot. E il padrone di casa Pagano comunque a finire primo alla bandiera a scacchi. A concludere le gare di Prefinale  delle classi Acisport la 125 Gentleman con la vittoria di V. Di Marino; nella 125 Prodriver con A. Capponi e formidabile Francesca Cifola nella 125 Club. Nel trofeo di marca Iame X30 Challenge, Comanducci show che vince dopo la pole position con Gradito secondo e Carlo Piccolo terzo. PL Lanza termina a metà classifica.

Si passa subito alle Finali con la pista che va migliorando. Griglie formate, ripetiamo, dall’esito delle gare di PreFinale. In KZ2 o Gear Shift, anticipo del Campionato Italiano del prossimo 29 maggio a Sarno, Cucco purtroppo out dopo un ottimo avvio di Coppa del Vesuvio. Ne approfitta un implacabile Celenta che vincendo si prepara al meglio per la prossima tappa tricolore. Classi di cilindrata 60cc ovvero Cadetti ed Entry Level con le conferme per la vittoria di G. Minì (Cadetti) e di A. Apicella (Entry L.). Dopo 14 giri di battaglia nella OKJ vince ancora F. Pagano che però ha duellato con N. Genisi per la Finale, mentre Bristot ha dovuto alzare bandiera bianca.  Nella KZ2 Gentleman vittoria senza sorprese per Di Marino. Nella 125 Prodriver vince A. Capponi ed a concludere le classi Nazionali, la 125 Club  con Moretti primo e super Francesca Cifola seconda. Nella finale del trofeo di marca Iame X30 Challenge, grandissimo spettacolo. Di Cori e Barbato si mettono all’inseguimento di Comanducci. Gradito si ripropone nelle posizioni che contano con Lanza, gran combattente che arriva in quarta posizione. Spettacolo puro anche a metà classifica di gara con un gruppo di piloti animato da Piccolo che viaggiano praticamente agganciati. All’undicesimo giro, colpo di scena con Di Cori, secondo che sorpassa il leader Comanducci. Grande risposta dello stesso Comanducci che dopo una tornata si riprende la vetta andando a vincere. Che protagonisti, che gara!

Dal prossimo 21 aprile pista nuovamente aperta a Sarno per il definitivo shake down del tracciato che cambia misura avvicinandosi meglio alle specifiche dei veicoli da gara. I lavori hanno interessato anche parte dell’asfalto e si continuerà con alcune strutture funzionali alle gare.

Dopo quasi un decennio, il tracciato della pista di Sarno, il Circuito Internazionale Napoli cambia volto. Nessun stravolgimento al percorso motoristico che ha sfornato quasi tutti i campioni attuali e di un recente passato dell’automobilismo e del karting a livello mondiale ma modifiche importanti.

Il vecchio tracciato di 1699 metri, era stato creato ed omologato nel 2006 e per la lunghezza segnava la misura massima come da regolamento nel Karting. I veicoli in gara hanno corso al massimo delle sollecitazioni sia per il telaio che per il motore e le messe a punto mai definitive o standardizzate. Una sfida nella sfida ad accrescere il valore di una gara a Sarno. Il nuovo tracciato 2016 ora misurerà 1590 mt con una modifica che è caratterizzante del percorso ma che va incontro a nuove esigenze, attuali del motorsport, come la costante massima competizione accompagnata da una maggiore fluidità di funzionamento delle componenti anche al fine di prolungare la vita dei mezzi.

La parte interessata a modifica è nell’ultimo settore ovvero il tratto di pista che poi porta sul rettilineo del traguardo. Spariscono le sinuose e famose “3 esse” per far posto ad un gancio che si immette sull’immutato cuneo che porta al bellissimo rettilineo delle griglie. Lavori effettuati anche sull’asfalto in determinate zone così come per alcuni cordoli. In corso anche lavori alle strutture del parco chiuso.

In figure il nuovo tracciato del Circuito Internazionale Napoli misura quindi 1590 metri, con 9 rettilinei, 13 tornanti di diverso raggio e 1 variante fra i due segmenti che compongono il rettilineo di potenza della pista di Sarno.

Apertura del nuovo tracciato il 21 di aprile, prossimo appuntamento in pista il 24 e 25 aprile con la 19esima edizione del Trofeo Grifone per il Karting al cui interno ospiterà anche il trofeo di Marca Rotax. Il Circuito Internazionale Napoli sarà la pista che ospiterà in ottobre il Rotax Max Challege Grand Finals 2016. Singolo evento motoristico mondiale per la specialità.

In Sarno, Italy, a new track layout for the racing’s make up of Circuito Internazionale Napoli.

From next April 21 track reopened in Sarno for the final shakedown of the new configuration, after some works that redesign without hard revolution the well appreciate Circuit under the Vesuvius foot. Works are affecting even the tarmac and other facilities of the racing plant.

After nearly a decade, the track layout of Sarno, the Circuito Internazionale Napoli, changes face. No hard heavy changes to motor path that has graduated the major part of the current and the ones from recent past motorsport and Karting champions. Just important changes.

The majority of Sarno’s iconic straights and corners are retained in the new layout. The old route of 1,699 meters, was created and approved in 2006 and the length marked the fullest extent as regulation in Karting. The vehicles in the race course have the maximum stress for both the chassis and the engine and the setups never definitive or standardized. A challenge in the challenge to increase the value of a race in Sarno. The new 2016 track now will measure 1,590 meters. A significant change is in the last sector where one time there was the famous and terrible “triple s” corners that disappear in the new design. The drivers will now turn left two time, then right, engaging and drawing something like a hook then in the traditional last corner before the starting grid straight.

On Circuito, crew are carrying out works on the asphalt of certain points as well as for some curbs along the track. Work in progress also to the structures of the park fermee.

New Circuito figures: leght 1590 mt, 9 straight, 13 corners with different radius and 1 light chicane between the two segments of the Sarno’s power main straight.

So, racing activities will reopen on April 21, next upcoming race April 24-25 with 19 ed of Trofeo Grifone, Karting, where will be the race for also for Rotax categories. Circuito Internazionale Napoli on next October will be the stage for Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals 2016.

After an amazing racing weekend at Circuito Internazionale Napoli, the WSK Super Master Series exposes the chequered flags for its second seasonal round with the general standing always open to all final results

 

The WSK Super Master Series land in Sarno, the Italian Circuit knows as one of the most historical and performing Karting track, all around the world.

The number of the event marks 201 drivers on the 4 class of vehicle-karts. From the 60ccMini to the OKJ and OK with 125cc as displacement and direct drive. Last, the hiper-fast 125cc KZ with gearbox.

 

Since from the first official activities on track from Friday, the motosport show operated by the Karting speciality, has offered an amazing and competitive show. The high number of drivers has been selected by the preliminary phase of the event between qualification practice sessions and real races as qualification heats. On Sundays, just 34 drivers in each class on the starting grid to race for the finals.

 

In the 125cc OK Italian L. Travisanutto (TonyKart/Vortex/Vega)  took his first victory of the year at Sarno. The first row of the starting grid signed by spanish P. Hiltbrand (CRG/Parilla/Vega) in pole and on his side, danish N. Nielsen (TonyKart/Vortex/Vega) after the troubles suffered from italian driver F. Tiene in the morning. Italian Travisanutto try to keep the first position after a great start but is the danish Nielsen to reach the top after seven laps. The last laps of the race has been dramatic with a revolution on top due a engine problem for the leader. At the flag, is the really accurate race of Travisanutto that give to Italian driver the first victory.

For 125cc OKJ what an exciting race! Congratulations to russian I. Shvetsov  (TonyKart/Vortex/Vega) for winning his race at Circuito Internazionale Napoli. First row on grid composed by the swedish Blomqvist on pole with his kart by TonyKart powered Vortex and spanish D. Vidales (Energy/Tm/Vega). Since Friday, a wide range of drivers were predicted to gain the big result in the Final. The race seem to be an affair for the poleman but at lap 9 a strange race collision took out the leader, changing the race standing. Bring the leadership the russian leading till the end with a podium composed in all the three spots by russian drivers.

For 60ccMINI Italian driver G. Minì (Energy/Tm/Vega) commands and conquers Sarno’s round of WSK Super Master Series after a race of 8 laps. First position keep by Italian since the start on grid where the little champion gained also the first spot on the grid.

125cc KZ Italian driver and former World Champion Marco Ardigò (TonyKart/Vortex/Vega) claims a stunning WSK-Sarno’s round edition 2016.  Ardigò did a fantastic performance over the competirors, defending and re-reaching the top of the race in various occasion. Mention to the unlucky Lammers protagonist of the race until problem send him out. But expecially over the frenc A. Abbasse (Sodì/Tm/Vega) that close on second position. Nice race also for Italian P. De Conto from CRG.

Day 2 at Circuito with a long series of races in a row as QHeats in a perfect track condition. Leaderboard without surprise but eyes on a chronometers with lap records seriously threatened.

 

The second official day at Circuito Internazionale Napoli in Sarno (Italy) where the WSK Super Master Series is performing its round number two, has showed the races as Qualification Heats, to bring the best bullets on track on the grids of the Sunday’s final phase.

A total of 22 races. Four classes involved and 201 drivers on track.

The 125cc OKJ class has done 8 races like the 60cc MINI due to the large number of driver present in the mentioned classes. The 125cc OK and the hyper 125 KZ with gearbox, three races each one.

 

The daily leaderboard sign in 125cc OKJ some names on top as winner of the Qheats like spanish Vidales, the russian squad with Bogdanov, Shvetsov and Fetisov. But highlights on swedish Blomqvist able to win 2 races.  In the 125cc OK first at cequered flag, in order: danish Nielsen, italian Tiene and again the Italian, landlord here in Sarno! For the 125cc KZ Italian Lorandi (KZ2) sign a fantastic double victory and the dutch Lammers with one. In the early morning french Abbasse (Sodì/Tm/Vega) marks a great 1.03.630 not far away from Sarno’s lap record!

Last but not least the 60ccMINI where it is the italian squad to led the leaderboard with a victory for Pizzi, Antonelli, and two time for Minì who sign also the best lap in the Qp with 1.17.090. Victory also for driver from Singapore, Kattoulas

 

On Sunday, as schedule, final fase of the Wsk Super Master Series with the races for Pre-final and the Finals for all four classes.
